Formal external trade in Goods report (August 2022)

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 304.66 million in August 2022, an increase of 0.40 per cent compared to the previous month of July 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 69.77 per cent on the deficit of August 2021.


Formal External Trade in Goods(Q2,2022)

In the second quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1,767.28 million, an increase of 36 percent over the second quarter of 2021. Exports were US$ 331.32 million; imports were US$ 1,257.72 million and re-exports were US$ 178.23 million.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 303.45 million in July 2022, an increase of 1.16 per cent compared to the previous month of June 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 32.92 per cent on the deficit of July 2021.

In the first quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1486.51 million, an increase of 44 percent over the first quarter of 2021. Exports were US$ 280.67 million, imports were US$ 1055.38 million and re-exports were US$ 150.46 million.
