The 2010 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (2010 RDHS) was implemented by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR), and the field work was conducted from September 26, 2010 to  March 10, 2011. The funding for the RDHS was provided by  the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Global AIDS Program (CDC/GAP), the Global Fund to fight AIDS,Tuberculosis and Malaria, the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), the World Vision, and the Government of Rwanda. ICF Macro provided technical assistance  to the project through the MEASURE DHS project, a USAID-funded project providing support and technical assistance in the implementation of population and health datasources in countries worldwide.

Demographic and Health Survey, 2010 - HIV Fact Sheet

The 2010 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS) includes HIV testing of 6,917 women age 15-49 and 6,331 men age 15-59. According to the survey, 3.0 of Rwandans age 15-49 are HIV-positive.

The 2010 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (RDHS) provides up-to-date information on the population and health situation in Rwanda. The 2010 RDHS is the fifth national Demographic and Health Survey conducted in the country. Repeated surveys allow for an analysis of trends over time.The survey is based on a nationally representative sample. It provides estimates at the national and provincial levels.

Demographic and Health Survey 2010 - Final Report

Results of RDHS 2010 - Final Report show a decrease in maternal and infant mortality rates compared with the surveys of 2005 and 2007-08, an increase in prenatal care visits and utilization of delivery services, an increase in utilization of modern contraceptives, and higher immunization coverage for children age 12-23 months.

Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey 2010 - Preliminary Report

This report presents preliminary findings from the  2010 Rwanda Demographic and Health Survey (2010 RDHS). Survey findings will be used by policy makers to evaluate the demographic and health status of the  Rwandan population  in order to formulate appropriate population and health policies and programs in Rwanda. The forthcoming final report and summary report of the RDHS will contain more detailed findings.
