High profile speakers attended the Workshop on "Open Access to Statistical Data by NISR and Dissemination of Gender Statistics Report 2013"

10th May 2013, Kigali Serena Hotel

Kigali, 10 May 2013 - The National Institute of Statistics (NISR) invited high level officials from both Government and UN agencies to the Dissemination workshop themed: “Open access to Statistical Data by NISR and Dissemination of Gender Statistics Report 2013” that took  place on 10th May 2012 in SERENA Hotel, Kigali.

Today, NISR is using the latest IT tools  namely, Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange (SDMX), Statistical Data Portal and Stat Alert for disseminating indicators, while NADA and IMIS are used to disseminate microdata from surveys and censuses to facilitate further analytical research.

It is easy for users to access all available statistics and metadata which facilitates their own analysis or relevant interpretations. The NISR is planning to enhance statistical dissemination and improve the use of statistics to support evidence-based decision making as one of its key objectives.

Also, this has been an opportunity to disseminate the “Gender Statistics Report 2013”which will significantly contribute to evidence-based planning and to the evaluation and monitoring of great slides that Rwanda makes in promoting gender equality and empowering women.
