The Urban CPI increased by 0.8 percent in March 2015 compared to the same month of the previous year. This is mainly due to the rising prices of Food and non-alcoholic beverages 0.8 percent and Housing water, electricity, gas and other fuels 3.8 percent.

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 0.7 percent year on year in February 2015, down from 1.4 percent in January 2015.
In February 2015, “Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels” rose by 3.6 percent while Transport decreased by 4.3 percent.

The Urban CPI increased by 1.4 percent on annual basis and decreased by 0.5 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between January 2015 and January 2014 is 1.7 percent.
