The Football team of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda ( NISR)continues to prove that it is at its best in the ongoing sport competition among public institutions in Rwanda.
On March 15, the competition pitted NISR against Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS) in football at Cercle Rugunga. NISR completely controlled the match which ended on a 4 -1 win in their favour.As the match started, NISR team strained and struggled for a goal.They did. They netted four times.
The first goal was a rocket hardly whizzed by Adda into the top corner of the post eight minutes in. The second was Alexis’ grass-cutter which came 5 minutes before half time. Though RBS netted a goal from penalty seen few minutes of second half, their claps did not last a minute; All of a sudden, RBS bravo shouts were watered by Rutazinda with a diving shot across the legs of RBS goalkeeper. Seven minutes before the referee ended the match, Adda received a no-look pass from Khrozzo and netted the fourth goal in a way which got fans off their seats.
At 4-1 win, the NISR captain and the coach want to see more results in upcoming matches.“We are not comfortable” said the captain as the match ended. “Each match is equal to another because the match decides the next. So, every match is for us to win till we get the cup; That when we will be comfortable”. He added.
NISR management has congratulated players for this qualification and hailed the Prime Minister's office for having initiated this competition.
The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda is currently respresented by teams in three disciplines namely football ,Volleyball and basketball.
