The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) is mandated to track and monitor the Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS) Performance Indicators. In particular, it manages all the statistics for national development. The NISR strategic themes covering the period 2007-2011 include: a) providing relevant, high quality statistical information to meet user needs; b) developing and promoting statistical units; c) Supporting advocacy and partnership; and d) building and retaining human capacity through out the National Statistical System (NSS). The main objective of the annual review is to assess the achievements of the project against the set targets and objectives as laid out in annual work plan for 2007. Based on the findings of the annual review, recommendations for improvement in the implementation of project in the following years of the project cycle will be recorded. The methodology of the annual review has been through the following: Desk review of key project documents: Project plans (Annual work plan, quarterly plans), Reports (quarterly progress reports, 2007 accomplishment report, advisors progress reports), project document, and the National Execution manual; Interviews with key stakeholders and persons to gather feedback including the users of data (Selected Government ministries, Civil Society, NISR Director General and directors, International advisors, district statisticians and others). - Statistical Yearbook 2009
