Mrs UWIMANA Therese
Mrs. Therese UWIMANA is the Director of the Data Revolution and Big Data Unit at the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR), a position she has held since June 2021. She leads a unit of data scientists to scope and deliver data science projects that support the institute in achieving its mandate of supporting evidence-based decision-making across government.
She also serves at the Programme Management Unit of the United Nations Regional Hub Big Data and Data Science for Africa. Her focus is to establish an enabling environment for the responsible adoption of big data systems, administrative data, and the use of technology to enhance the frequency and efficiency of statistics production.
She holds a master's degree in software management.
