The fifth Population and Housing Census in Rwanda, will be conducted in August 2022. The Census operation is being coordinated by the National Census Commission. Various census technical and administrative structures have been put in place to ensure a successful census operation.

The analysis of the fifth Rwanda Population and Housing Census (RPHC5) indicates that Rwanda’s population was 13,246,394 as of August 2022, showing an inter-censal annual growth rate of 2.3% between 2012 and 2022.

Rwanda's population increased from 10.5M in 2012 to 13.2M in 2022 with an annual population growth rate of 2.3%. Eastern Province has the highest population (26.9%). Southern Province has the highest number of recent out-migrants.
