Employment
In August 2026 (Q3), services remained the largest employer (45.6% of the employed population), followed by agriculture (34.2%) and industry (20.2%). Compared to August 2025 (Q3), agriculture’s share fell by 0.9 percentage points, while services and industry remained almost stable.
Unemployment
According to the results of LFS for August 2026 (Q3), the unemployment rate in Rwanda stood at 15.6 %, it increased by 2.2 percentage points.
Labour underutilization
In August 2026 (Q3), the population outside the labour force stood at 36.1% of the working age population. The comparison of the current population outside labour force with the estimated value in the same quarter one year back reveals that it increased by 1.9 percentage points.
