Rwanda's annual inflation stands at 3.68 percent in June 2013

Rwanda's consumer price index has increased by 3.68 pc in June 2013 compared to 2.98 pc in the previous month. This gives a general inflation rate by an annual average of 4.6% during the month of June 2013.

The increase in the general index of 3.68 is mainly due to the rising prices of food and non alcoholic beverages (4.41) and Education (35.18) which contributed +1.66 and + 1.29 respectively.
 
The 'local goods' increased by 4.12 on annual change with a monthly change of 0.10, while prices of theimported products increased by 1.89 on annual change with a monthly change of -0.53.
 
The prices of the fresh products had a positive annual change of 6.30 between June 2013 and June 2012.
