Rwanda's CPI is 0.7 pct year on year in December 2017

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 0.7 percent year on year in December 2017 down from 2.2 percent in November 2017.

In December 2017, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 2.4 percent, and 2.8 percent respectively.

The data also show the “local goods” decreased by 0.3 percent on annual change and decreased by 1.6 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 4.1 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.1 percent on a monthly basis.

The prices of the “Energy” increased by 6.6 percent on annual change and increased by 1.1 percent on a monthly basis.

The prices of the “fresh products” decreased by 7.1 percent on annual change and decreased by 7.5 percent on a monthly basis.
