Rwanda's CPI up 2.3 pct year on year in July 2015

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 2.3 percent year on year in July 2015, down from 2.8 percent in June 2015.

In July 2015,‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ ,‘Housing water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and ‘Transport’ rose by 0.7 percent, 4.2 percent and 2.7 percent.

The data also show the “local goods” increased by 1.9 percent on annual change and decreased by 0.5 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 3.4 percent on annual basis andi ncreased by 1.0 percent on a monthly basis.

The prices of the “fresh products” increased by 0.1 percent between July 2015 and July 2014.
