Rwanda's CPI up 2.9 pct year on year in October 2015
Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 2.9 percent year on year in October 2015, down from 3.7 percent in September 2015.
In October 2015, ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’,‘Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics’and ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’rose by 5.6 percent,10.5 percent and 4.0 percent respectively.
The data also show the “local goods” increased by 3.8 percent on annual change andwas stable on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 0.1 percent on annual basis anddecreased by 0.7 percent on a monthly basis.
The prices of the “fresh products” increased by9.3percent on annual change and increased by 0.5 on a monthly basis.
