Rwanda's CPI is 3.6 pct year on year in October 2017

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 3.6 percent year on year inOctober 2017 down from 3.8 percent in September 2017.

In October 2017, ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 6.4 percent, 2.4 percent and 3.3 percent respectively.

The data also show the “local goods” increased by 3.1 percent on annual change andincreased by 1.1 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 5.3 percent on annual basis and increased by 1.5 percenton a monthly basis.

The prices of the “fresh products” increased by 5.5percent on annual change and increased by 4.3 percent on a monthly basis.
