Rwanda's CPI up 6.4 pct year on year in November 2016

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen6.4 percent year on year in November 2016 down from 7.4 percent in October 2016.

In November2016,‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’,‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’and Transport rose by 13.5 percent,1.1 percent and 7.5 percentrespectively.

The data also show the “local goods” increased by 6.0percent on annual change anddecreased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 7.7 percent on annual basis andincreased by 1.1 percent on a monthly basis.

The prices of the “fresh products” increased by 13.7percent on annual change and decreased by 1.2 percent on a monthly basis.
