Rwanda's inflation is 5 percent year on year in November 2024
Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation increased by 5 percent year on year in November 2024 up from 3.8 percent in October 2024.
In November 2024, ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’ increased by 2.1 percent on annual basis and it decreased by 0.3 percent on monthly basis. ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ increased by 4.4 percent on annual basis and it increased by 0.2 percent on monthly basis. Transport increased by 15.6 percent on annual basis and it decreased by 0.1 percent on monthly basis.
The data also show the “local products” increased by 5 percent on annual change and it increased by 0.3 percent on monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 5.1 percent on annual basis and it decreased by 0.4 percent on monthly basis.
The prices of the “fresh products” increased by 5.4 percent on annual change and it decreased by 0.8 percent on monthly basis.
The prices of the “energy” decreased by 0.2 percent on annual change and it also decreased by 0.2 on monthly basis.
The prices of the “general Index excluding fresh products and energy” increased by 5.3 percent on annual change and it increased by 0.4 percent on monthly basis.
