Rwanda's inflation is 7.5 pct year on year in March 2022

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation increased by 7.5 percent year on year in March 2022 up from 5.8 percent in February 2022.
In March 2022, Food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 10.2 percent on annual basis and increased by 5.1 percent on monthly basis. ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ increased by 8.1 percent on annual basis and increased by 3.9 percent on monthly basis. Transport increased by 3.8 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.1 percent on monthly basis. Restaurants and hotels increased by 14.7 percent on annual change and increased by 8.1 percent on monthly basis.
The data also show the “local goods” increased by 6.1 percent on annual change and increased by 3.1 percent on monthly basis, while prices of the “imported products” increased by 12 percent on annual basis and increased by 2.9 percent on monthly basis.
The prices of the “fresh products” increased by 4 percent on annual change and increased by 2.4 percent on monthly basis.
The prices of the “Energy” increased by 15.9 percent on annual change and increased by 8.4 percent on monthly basis.
The prices of the “General Index excluding fresh Products and energy” increased by 7.6 percent on annual change and increased by 2.7 percent on monthly basis.
