A delegation of General Statistics Office (GSO) fromVietnam visited the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) to share knowledge and gain experience of the NISR in data production and data dissemination
From 16 to 20 September 2013, a delegation from GSO visited the NISR to learn from Rwanda’s best practice in producing and disseminating official statistics.
Much was devoted to the area of production processes of official statistics in NISR and key data dissemination platforms available to release development indicators and surveys and censuses datasets to the public.
An internationally recommended tool for exchange and sharing MDG and national development indicators with the international community (SDMX) was showcased and demonstrated to the delegation as well.

The study visit also paved the way for further exchanges and sharing valuable expertise in statistical capacity through GSO Vietnam-NISR cooperation to be established. This study visit to NISR followed other study visits by Statistics offices of Madagascar, Senegal, South Soudan and Burundi (ISTEEBU).
