The 2019-2021 Integrated Business Enterprise Survey in Rwanda (IBES) is a comprehensive business enterprise survey undertaken to collect, compile, and analyse data on the level and structure of non-agricultural economic activity in the country for both informal and formal sectors, with the formal sector defined as those businesses registered with the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and that keep regular business accounts. Data collection has been carried out by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) from May to August 2022 with the year 2021 being the reference period. In addition, some business data for the years 2019 and 2020 have been collected to fill the gap created by the advent of COVID-19 of which countermeasures have put on hold data collection for these two years.
