Consumer Price Index (CPI) - March 2025
Urban CPI increased by 6.5 percent on annual basis (March 2025 compared to March 2024) and it increased by 1.3 percent on monthly basis (March 2025 to February 2025). The annual average inflation rate between March 2025 and March 2024 was 5.3 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (February - 2025)
In February 2025, the industrial output (formal sector) increased by 7.1% compared to February 2024, against an increase of 9.4% on annual average basis.
Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2024
In 2024 the working age population (16 years and above) was approximately 8.3 million of whom around 4.4 million were employed, 780 thousand were unemployed, and 3.1 million were out of labour force. The sum of the employed and unemployed population makes the population in the labour force 5.2 million persons. The proportion of the working age population participating in the labour force has steadily increased since 2022. In 2024, it was estimated to be 62.9 % which is 3.6 percentage points higher compared to the estimated value in 2023.
Producer Price Index Report, February 2025
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 4.3 percent in February 2024, Local PPI increased by 1.8 percent in February 2024, and Export PPI increased by 9.7 percent in February 2024.
Travel Expenditure Survey - 2024
This report presents the findings from the Travel Expenditure Survey conducted between November 1st 2024, to January 30th 2025, which were utilized to estimate travel services for 2024Q4 as well as the estimates for the year 2024.
GDP National Accounts (Fourth Quarter 2024)
In quarter four of 2024, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 4,972 billion, up from Frw 4,500 billion in the same quarter of 2023. In this quarter, services contributed 49% to GDP, agriculture contributed 24% while industry contributed 20%. The remainder 7% was attributed to taxes less subsidies on products.
