In December 2024, the industrial output (formal sector) increased by 5.7 percent compared to December 2024, against an increase of 9.0 percent on annual average basis.
Formal external trade in Goods report (December 2024)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 134.69 million in December 2024, a decrease of 45.08 percent compared to the previous month of November 2024. Year-to-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 63.46 percent on the deficit of December 2023.
Producer Price Index Report, December 2024
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 0.2 percent in December 2024, Local PPI decreased by 2.5 percent in December 2024, and Export PPI increased by 5.9 percent in December 2024.
Labour Force Survey - 2024 (Q4)
In November 2024 (Q4), the working age population (16 years and above) was around 8.4 million of whom around 4.6 million were employed, 789 thousand were unemployed, and 3 million were out of labour force. The labour force comprises 5.4 million people, which includes both the employed and unemployed population. The proportion of working age population who were in the labour force has consistently increased since 2022. In November 2024, it was estimated to be 64.0 % which is 4 percentage points higher than the estimated value in November 2023 (60.0%).
Foreign Private Capital 2024 - Survey Report
The 2024 Foreign Private Capital (FPC) survey highlights Rwanda’s status regarding Foreign private investment and ongoing commitment to attracting foreign investment. Key findings from this year’s survey indicate a significant increase in the Foreign Private Capital inflows, which rose by 33.8 percent to USD 886.9 million in 2023, mainly resulting from an increase in the Foreign Direct Investment inflows of 44.3 percent, amounting to USD 716.5 million.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) - December 2024
Urban CPI increased by 6.8 percent on annual basis (December 2024 compared to December 2023) and it decreased by 0.8 percent on monthly basis (December 2024 to November 2024).The annual average inflation rate between December 2024 and December 2023 was 4.8 percent.
Formal external trade in Goods report (Q3,2024)
In the third quarter of 2024, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 2,982.66 million, an increase of 41 percent over the third quarter of 2023. Domestic exports were estimated at US$ 653.85 million; imports were estimated at US$ 2,144.23 million and re-exports were estimated at US$ 184.59 million.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 363.65 million in November 2024, a decrease of 32.56 percent compared to October 2024. Year-to-year, the deficit for formal trade in goods decreased by 20.18 percent on the deficit of November 2023.
