Formal external trade in Goods report (July 2020)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 150.54 million in July 2020, a decrease of 21.72 per cent compared to the previous month of June. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 9.80 per cent on the deficit of July 2019.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 192.32 million in June 2020, an increase of 45.67 per cent compared to the previous month of May. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 60.14 per cent on the deficit of June 2019.
Producer Price Index Report,August 2020
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 3.9 percent in August 2020. Monthly general PPI increased by 0.7 percent. Local PPI increased by 3.9 percent in August 2020, while Export PPI increased by 6.2 percent in August 2020.
GDP - National Accounts (Fiscal Year 2019/20)
In the fiscal year 2019-20, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 9399 billion, up from Frw 8713 billion in 2018-19. Services sector contributed 48 percent of GDP while agriculture sector contributed 25 percent of the GDP. Industry sector contributed 19 percent of the GDP and 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
GDP National Accounts (Second Quarter 2020)
In the second quarter of 2020, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 2,175 billion, down from Frw 2,346 billion in Q2 of 2019. Services continue to lead in terms of shares to GDP with 45% compared to 28% and 19% shares for agriculture and industry respectively. The remainder 9% is attributed to net taxes on products.
Labour Force Survey 2019, Thematic Report, Gender
This report is the result of the analysis of Labour Force Survey 2019. It sets out a broad overview of trends and gender gaps, including gaps in labour force participation rates, employment-to-population ratios and unemployment rates, along with differences in labour market status and the type of activities that men and women perform in the labour market, hours spent in paid and unpaid work and sectoral and occupational segregation. It also discusses the extent to which these factors account for gender gaps in wages and social protection.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) - August 2020
Urban CPI increased by 8.8 percent on annual basis (August 2020 to August 2019) and increased by 0.5 percent on monthly basis (August 2020 to July 2020). The annual average inflation rate between August 2020 and August 2019 was 7.5 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity) July 2020
In July 2020, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) decreased by 6 percent compared to July 2019, against a slight decrease of 1.3 percent on annual average basis.

The ultimate goal of Labour Force Survey (LFS) programme is to collect data on employment and labour underutilization characteristics of the population on a continuous basis, providing quarterly estimates of the main labour force aggregates with sufficient precision at the district level.
