Urban CPI increased by 9.2 percent on annual basis (July 2020 to July 2019) and increased by 0.2 percent on monthly basis (July 2020 to June 2020). The annual average inflation rate between July 2020 and July 2019 was 7 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity) June 2020
In June 2020, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) decreased by 6.4 percent compared to June 2019, against a slight increase of 0.03 percent on annual average basis.

Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 3.1 percent in June 2020. Monthly general PPI increased by 0.3 percent. Local PPI increased by 4 percent in June 2020, and Export PPI decreased by 1.8 percent in June 2020.

Formal external trade in Goods report (May 2020)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 132.02 million in May 2020, an increase of 2.66 per cent compared to the previous month of April. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 42.66 per cent compared to May 2019.
GDP National Accounts (First Quarter 2020)
In the first quarter of 2020, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 2,452 billion, up from Frw 2,152 billion in Q1 2019. In this quarter, services sector contributed 48 percent of GDP, agriculture sector contributed 25 percent of the GDP, Industry sector contributed 19 percent of the GDP and 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
Formal External Trade in Goods Statistics report (Q1, 2020)
In the first quarter of 2020, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1206.89 million, an increase of 29 percent over the first quarter of 2019. Exports were US$ 207.95 million, imports were US$ 916.68 million and re-exports were US$ 82.25 million.
