2018 Education Statistics Report
Education data is collected through annual data collection exercise using questionnaires specifically designed for that purpose. All data are collected via decentralized channels (districts, sectors and schools). However, data on tertiary education sector is collected directly from tertiary institutions, data on National Employment Program (NEP) was collected from the NEP department in Rwanda Polytechnics (RP).
National Gender Statistics report 2019
The 2019 the National Gender Statistics Report provides the updated sex-disaggregated data in twelve fields: Population and Youth; Education; Health and Nutrition; Economic Activity and time use; Poverty & Social Protection; Justice & Human rights; Environment and Natural Resources; Decisionmaking and Public life; Infrastructure, ICT and Media; Trade and Business and Industry; Agriculture, Livestock and Forestry, and lastly the Income and Access to Finance.
GDP - National Accounts (Fiscal Year 2018/19)
In the fiscal year 2018 -19, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 8,596 billion, up from Frw 7,899 billion in 2017-18. Services sector contributed 48 percent of GDP while agriculture sector contributed 28 percent of the GDP. Industry sector contributed 17 percent of the GDP and 7 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
GDP National Accounts (Second Quarter 2019)
In the second quarter of 2019, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 2,255 billion, up from Frw 2,001 billion in Q2 2018. In this quarter, services sector contributed 47 percent of GDP, agriculture sector contributed 28 percent of the GDP, Industry sector contributed 17 percent of the GDP and 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
Formal External Trade in Goods Statistics report (Q2, 2019)
In the second quarter of 2019, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1,073.6 million, an increase of 13.31 percent over the second quarter of 2018. Exports were US$ 149.26 million, imports were US$ 822.6 million and re-exports were US$ 101.73 million.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity) July 2019
In July 2019, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that: industrial output (formal sector) increased by 3.6 percent compared to July 2018, against 3.2 percent in June 2019 when compared to June 2018.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) - August 2019
Urban CPI increased by 2.3 percent on annual basis (August 2019 to August 2018) and increased by 0.9 percent on monthly basis (August to July 2019). The annual average inflation rate between August 2019 and August 2018 was 0.8 percent.
Producer Price Index Report, July 2019
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 17.25 percent in July 2019. Monthly general PPI increased by 2.84 percent compared to June 2019. Local PPI increased by 25.48 in July 2019, and Export PPI decreased by 8.8 in July 2019.
Formal external trade in Goods report (July 2019)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 182.22 million in July 2019, an increase of 8.69 percent compared to the previous month of June. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 21.60 percent on the deficit of July 2018.
Producer Price Index Report, June 2019
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 11.85 percent in June 2019.The monthly general PPI decreased by 0.96 percent compared to May 2019. Local PPI increased by 20.65 in June 2019, and Export PPI decreased by 13.46 in June.
