In May 2023, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) increased by 10.3 percent compared to May 2022, against an increase of 9.1 percent on annual average basis.
Activities performed as follows:
- Mining and quarrying increased by 15.4 percent
- Manufacturing increased by 23.3 percent
- Electricity increased by 15.3 percent; and
- Water and waste management increased by 5.7 percent.
