Index of Industrial Production (February-2024)
In February 2024, the industrial output (formal sector) increased by 7.7 percent compared to February 2023, against an increase of 2.9 percent on annual average basis.
Formal external trade in Goods report (February 2024)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 438.89 million in February 2024, an increase of 15.25 percent compared to the previous month of January 2024. Year-to-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 62.17 percent on the deficit of February 2023.
Producer Price Index Report - February 2024
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 13.9 percent in February 2024, Local PPI increased by 12.8 percent in February 2024, and Export PPI increased by 16.8 percent in February 2024.
Formal external trade in Goods report (Q4,2023)
In the fourth quarter of 2023, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 2159.86million, an increase of 6.86 percent over the fourth quarter of 2022. Domestic exports are US$ 400.06 million; imports were US$ 1600.24 million and re-exports were US$ 159.55 million.
Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2023
The 2023 Annual Labour Force Survey report is compiled from aggregated data spanning four quarters of the year 2023, obtained through data collection conducted in February, May, August, and November 2023. The data collection employed a face-to-face methodology utilizing Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI). The Labour Force Survey (LFS) provides estimates concerning the size and characteristics of the labour force, employment, unemployment, and other pertinent labour market characteristics of the population.
GDP National Accounts (Fourth Quarter 2023)
In the fourth quarter of 2023, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 4,500 billion. Estimates calculated in 2017 prices show that GDP was 10 percent higher when compared to the same quarter of 2022.
In this quarter, services sector contributed 47 percent to GDP, agriculture sector contributed 26 percent to the GDP, industry sector contributed 20 percent to the GDP and 6 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
GDP National Accounts, 2023
In 2023, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 16,355 billion, the services sector accounted for 44% of the GDP, the agriculture sector contributed 27%, and the industry sector contributed 22% while Net indirect taxes accounted for 7%. In this year, o the annual average GDP growth of 8.2%.
Consumer Price Index - February 2024
Urban CPI increased by 4.9 percent on annual basis (February 2024 compared to February 2023) and it increased by 1.8 percent on monthly basis (February 2024 to January 2024). The annual average inflation rate between February 2024 and February 2023 was 11.4 percent.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 380.81 million in January 2024, an increase of 3.31 percent compared to the previous month of December 2023. Year-to-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 29.49 percent on the deficit of January 2023.
