Seasonal Agricultural Survey Report - Season A, 2020
National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda conducted 2020 Seasonal Agricultural Survey in Season A. Data collection was done in 1200 segments and 308 large scale farmers’ holdings. SAS 2020 results estimate agricultural land at 1.39 million hectares (59% of total country land). In 2020 Season A, physical crop cultivated land was 1.1 out of which 1.04 million hectares was used for Seasonal crops in season A, 0.5 million hectares are area under permanent crops, 0.15 million ha under permanent pasture.
Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2019
The Rwanda Labour Force survey programme begun in 2016 with an annual sample spread into two rounds to provide bi-annual estimates of main indicators at the National level. From February 2019, the annual sample was spread into four rounds to provide estimates of main labour market indicators on quarterly basis at the National level.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) - March 2020
Urban CPI increased by 8.5 percent on annual basis (March 2020 to March 2019) and increased by 1 percent on monthly basis (March 2020 to February 2020). The annual average inflation rate between March 2020 and March 2019 was 4.2 percent.
Producer Price Index Report, February 2020
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 8.7 percent in February 2020. Monthly general PPI increased by 2.6 percent compared to January 2020. Local PPI increased by 10.3 percent in February 2020, and Export PPI increased by 2.1 percent in February 2020.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity) February 2020
In February 2020, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) increased by 13.2 percent compared to February 2019, against an increase of 12.5 percent on annual average basis.
Formal External Trade in Goods Statistics report (Q4, 2019)
In the fourth quarter of 2019, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1221.07 million, an increase of 17.12 percent over the fourth quarter of 2018. Exports were US$ 241.36 million, imports were US$ 892.38 million and re-exports were US$ 87.33 million.
Formal external trade in Goods report (February 2020)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 155.83 million in February 2020, an increase of 29.36 per cent compared to the previous month of January. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 11.54 per cent on the deficit of February 2019.
GDP National Accounts, 2019
In 2019, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 9.313 billion, up from Frw 8.298 billion in 2018. Services sector contributed 49 percent of GDP, Agriculture sector contributed 24 percent of the GDP, Industry sector contributed 19 percent of GDP while 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes less subsidies on products.
GDP National Accounts (Fourth Quarter 2019)
In the fourth quarter of 2019, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 2,290 billion, up from Frw 2,130 billion in Q4 2018. In this quarter, services sector contributed 49 percent of GDP, agriculture sector contributed 25 percent of the GDP, Industry sector contributed 17 percent of the GDP and 9 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
