Formal External Trade in Goods Statistics report (Q1, 2018)
In the first quarter of 2018, Rwanda’s total trade amounted to US$ 918.22 million, an increase of 16.11 per cent over the first quarter of 2017. Exports totaled US$ 138.15 million, imports totaled US$ 695.17 million and re-exports were valued at US$ 84.90 million.
Formal external trade in Goods report (April 2018)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 127.77 million in April 2018, a decrease of 22.61 per cent compared to the previous month of March 2018. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 5.62 percent compare to the deficit of April 2017.
GDP National Accounts (First Quarter 2018)
In the first quarter of 2018, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 1,985 billion, up from Frw 1,816 billion in Q1 2017. In 2018 Q1, estimates calculated in 2014 prices show that GDP growth was 10.6 percent higher in real terms compared to the same quarter of 2017.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) -May 2018
The Urban CPI increased by 3.0 percent on annual basis and increased by 1.1 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between May 2018 and May 2017 is 2.4 percent.
Producer Price Index Report (First Quarter 2018)
Rwanda’s general producer price index, combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual growth of 0.27 percent in the first quarter of 2018 compared with the same period of 2017, while on quarterly basis it decreased by 0.58 percent compared with the fourth quarter 2017.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 165.11 million in March 2018, an increase of 1.08 per cent compared to the previous month of February 2018. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 16.80 per cent on the deficit of March 2017.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 166.91 million in February 2018, an increase of 22.57 per cent compared to the previous month of January 2018. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 12.71 per cent on the deficit of February 2017.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, Rwanda’s total trade amounted to US$ 959.48 million, an increase of 19.8 per cent over the fourth quarter of 2016. Exports totaled US$ 157.53 million, imports totaled US$ 724.15 million and re-exports were valued at US$ 77.70 million.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 136.17 million in January 2018, a decrease of 24.06 per cent compared to the previous month of December 2017. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 1.45 per cent on the deficit of January 2017.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) - April 2018
The Urban CPI increased by 1.7 percent on annual basis and increased by 1.3 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between April 2018 and April 2017 is 2.7 percent.
