In May 2026, the formal sector industrial output increased by 5.6% compared to May 2025, while the annual average growth rate was 6.5%.
Activities performed as follows:
- Mining and quarrying Decreased by 14.7%.
- Manufacturing increased by 25.1%.
- Electricity increased by 25.1%; and
- Water & waste management increased by 11.1%.
The output of manufacturing activities increased by 25.1%. The increase in manufacturing activities is due to a 3.8 % increase in manufacturing of food processing, a 3.2% increase of manufacturing of beverages & tobacco, and a 6.7% increase of manufacturing of metal products, machinery & equipment increase.
