In April 2026, the formal sector industrial output increased by 0.7% compared to April 2025, while the annual average growth rate was 6.5%.
Activities performed as follows:
• Mining and quarrying increased by 5.3%
• Manufacturing increased by 5.5%
• Electricity increased by 14.8%; and
• Water & waste management increased by 14.1%.
The output of manufacturing activities increased by 5.5%. The increase in manufacturing activities is due to a 8.3 % increase in manufacturing of food processing, and a 3.0% increase of manufacturing of beverages & tobacco.
However, manufacturing of non-metallic mineral products decreased by 16.7% and manufacturing of wood & paper; printing decreased by 3.2%.
