In February 2026, the formal sector industrial output increased by 3.7% compared to February 2025, while the annual average growth rate was 6.3%.
Activities performed as follows:
• Mining and quarrying increased by 3.1%
• Manufacturing increased by 12.4%
• Electricity increased by 9.7%; and
• Water & waste management decreased by 1.9%.
The output of manufacturing activities increased by 12.4%. The increase in manufacturing activities is due to a 4.7 % increase in manufacturing beverages & tobacco, and a 3.0% increase of manufacturing of metal products, machinery & equipment.
However, manufacturing of textiles, clothing & leather goods decreased by 0.9%.
