In August 2026, the formal sector industrial output increased by 6.8% compared to August 2025, while the annual average growth rate was 6.2%.
Activities performed as follows:
- Mining and quarrying increased by 26.0%;
- Manufacturing increased by 4.8%;
- Electricity increased by 17.6%; and
- Water & waste management increased by 10.5%.
The output of manufacturing activities increased by 4.8%. The increase in manufacturing activities is due to a 7.0% increase in manufacturing of food processing, a 10.4% increase of Furniture & other Manufacturing, and a 10.8% increase of manufacturing of metal products, machinery & equipment.
However, manufacturing of beverages & tobacco decreased by 3.2%.
