The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 141.63 million in June 2018, a decrease of 0.08 per cent compared to the previous month of May 2018. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 16.25 per cent on the deficit of June 2017.
Formal external trade in Goods report (May 2018)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 141.71 million in May 2018, an increase of 10.94 per cent compared to the previous month of April 2018. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 13.57 per cent on the deficit of May 2017.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) -June 2018
The Urban CPI increased by 2.9 percent on annual basis and decreased by 0.9 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between June 2018 and June 2017 was 2.3 percent.
Establishment Census Report, 2017
The Establishment Census is a valuable source of information on all economic activities by size, formal and informal status of establishments in Rwanda. It provides information that are used to classify establishments according to their size (micro, small, medium, and large) but also formal and informal establishments. The methodology used for data collection and data analysis is quite similar and this help in comparative analysis with the previous establishments.
Integrated Business Enterprise Survey IBES 2016
The Integrated Business Enterprise Survey in Rwanda 2016 (IBES 2016) is a comprehensive enterprise survey undertaken to collect, compile, and analyze data on the level and structure of non-agricultural economic activity in the country for both informal and formal sectors with the formal sector defined as those businesses registered with the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA). Also included in formal sector are those companies which keep business accounts and or have 30 or more employees.
Labour Force Survey Report (February 2018)
The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) introduced the Labour Force Survey (LFS) program to avail statistics on employment and labour market in Rwanda on a continuous basis, providing bi-annual estimates of the main labour force aggregates. Labour statistics play an essential role in the efforts of the country to achieve decent work for all. These statistics are needed for the development of policies towards this goal and for assessing progress towards decent work.
Formal External Trade in Goods Statistics report (Q1, 2018)
In the first quarter of 2018, Rwanda’s total trade amounted to US$ 918.22 million, an increase of 16.11 per cent over the first quarter of 2017. Exports totaled US$ 138.15 million, imports totaled US$ 695.17 million and re-exports were valued at US$ 84.90 million.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 127.77 million in April 2018, a decrease of 22.61 per cent compared to the previous month of March 2018. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 5.62 percent compare to the deficit of April 2017.
GDP National Accounts (First Quarter 2018)
In the first quarter of 2018, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 1,985 billion, up from Frw 1,816 billion in Q1 2017. In 2018 Q1, estimates calculated in 2014 prices show that GDP growth was 10.6 percent higher in real terms compared to the same quarter of 2017.
