GDP National Accounts (First Quarter 2017)
In the first quarter of 2017, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 1,817 billion. Estimates calculated in 2014 prices show that GDP was 1.7 percent higher in real terms compared to the same quarter of 2016.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) - May 2017
The Urban Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 6.5 percent on annual basis and decreased by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between May 2017 and May 2016 is 6.9 percent.
Producer Price Index Report (First Quarter 2017)
The general index for the first quarter 2017, registered an increase of 11.32 percent compared to the index of first year of 2016, and an increase of 3.08 percent compared to the index of the previous quarter (fourth quarter 2016).

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 102.22 million in March 2017, an increase of 34.61 per cent compared to the previous month of February. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 10.51 per cent on the deficit of March 2016.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 75.94 million in February 2017, an increase of 15.87 per cent compared to the previous month of January. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 28.84 per cent on the deficit of February 2016.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 65.54 million in January 2017, a decrease of 21.53 per cent compared to the previous month of December 2016. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 37.05 per cent on the deficit of January 2016.

The Urban CPI increased by 7.3 percent on annual basis and increased by 0.4 percent on a monthly basis. The annual average rate between April 2017 and April 2016 is 6.7 percent.
