Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 6.3 percent in May 2025, Local PPI increased by 5.4 percent in May 2025, and Export PPI increased by 8.4 percent in May 2025.
On annual basis:
- General Producer Price Index increased by 6.3 percent.
- Local Producer Price Index increased by 5.4 percent.
- Export Producer Price Index increased by 8.4 percent.
On monthly basis:
- General Producer Price Index increased by 2.5 percent. This is due to an increase of 3.1 percent in prices of manufacturing activities.
- Local Producer Price Index increased by 1.7 percent.
- Export Producer Price Index increased by 4.4 percent. This is due to an increase of 10.8 percent in prices of coffee products. However, a decrease of 1.6 percent in the prices of tea dampened the high increase of the export PPI.
