Rwanda's producer price rises 6.6 pct in Q4,2016

Rwanda's producer price index (PPI), which measures the average change over time in prices for goods at the factory gate, rose 6.60 percent year on year in Quarter 4, 2016.


Rwanda's CPI up 7.4 pct year on year in January 2017

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation grew 7.4 percent year on year in January 2017up from 7.3 percent in December 2016.

In January2017, ‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’, ‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’ and Transport rose by 16.2 percent, 1.5 percent and 8.3 percent respectively.

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 7.3 percent year on year in December 2016 up from 6.4 percent in November 2016.


Rwanda's GDP expands 5.2 pct in Q3, 2016

In the Third quarter of the year 2016, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Rwf 1,662 billion, up from Rwf 1,506 billion in the same quarter of 2015. GDP grew by 5.2% compared to the same quarter in 2015.


Rwanda's total imports drop  8.68 pct to $ 439.39 million in Q3, 2016

Rwanda’s total trade amounted to US$ 603.44 million, lower by 5.92 per cent over the third quarter of 2015 was made up Exports worth of US$ 112.54 million, imports of US$ 439.39 million and re-exports valued at US$ 51.52 million.

The total imports of Rwanda decreased by  8.68 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2015 and Domestic exports decreased by 1.49 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2015.


Rwanda's CPI up 6.4 pct year on year in November 2016

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen6.4 percent year on year in November 2016 down from 7.4 percent in October 2016.

In November2016,‘Food and non-alcoholic beverages’,‘Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels’and Transport rose by 13.5 percent,1.1 percent and 7.5 percentrespectively.


Rwanda's PPI up 3.78 percent in Q3,2016

In Quarter 3 this year, Rwanda's producer price index (PPI) increased 3.78 percent year on year and was up 3.29 percent compared to the index of the previous quarter (second quarter 2016).

The index for local products for the third quarter 2016, registered an increase of 3.05 percent compared to the index of the third quarter of 2015, and an increase of 0.37 percent compared to the index of the previous quarter (second quarter 2016).

Rwanda’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), main gauge of inflation has risen 5.8 percent year on year in September 2016 down from 6.4 percent in August 2016.


Rwanda’s trade deficit increased by 3 pct in Q2, 2016

Rwanda’s total trade amounted to US$ 626.53 million, higher by 2.59 per cent over the second quarter of 2015 was made up Exports worth of US$ 92.24 million, imports of US$ 483.86 million and re-exports valued at US$ 50.43 million. The total imports of Rwanda increased by  2.80 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2015 and Domestic exports decreased by 1.76 per cent compared to the same quarter of 2015.
