Travel Expenditure Survey Report: Compilation methodology and Results 2022
This publication presents the estimates of travel services for the year 2022, the survey methodology and the results. This report is the first of its kind, the pilot survey was done in 2014 and 2015 while results of surveys from 2016 up to 2021 were used to estimate travel services in BOP, National Accounts and Tourism statistics for respective years.
Seasonal Agricultural Survey -2023 Annual Report
National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) has conducted the seasonal agricultural survey for the agricultural year 2022/2023, which covers three primary agricultural seasons in Rwanda. The main agricultural seasons include Season A, spanned from September 2022 to February 2023, Season B which started from March to June 2023, and Season C which started from July to September 2023. The survey covered 1,200 segments and 345 large scale farmers across the country.
TRAVEL EXPENDITURE SURVEY REPORT: Compilation methodology and results (January - September 2023)
This publication presents the estimates of travel services for the first three quarters of the year 2023, the survey methodology and the results. Travel services comprise of expenditure of non-residents in Rwanda (Credit) and expenditure of Rwandan residents abroad (Debit).
Formal external trade in Goods report (Q3,2023)
In the third quarter of 2023, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 2,116.57 million, an increase of 4.34 percent over the third quarter of 2022. Domestic exports were US$ 367.61 million; imports were US$ 1,575.95 million and re-exports were US$ 172.99 million.
Formal external trade in Goods report (November 2023)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 305.83 million in November 2023, a decrease of 5.88 percent compared to the previous month of October. Year-to-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 23.12 percent on the deficit of November 2022.
GDP National Accounts (Third Quarter 2023)
In the third quarter of 2023, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 4,249 billion, up from Frw 3,584 billion in the same quarter of 2022. Services sector contributed 46% to GDP, agriculture sector contributed 25% to GDP, industry sector contributed 21% to GDP while Net direct taxes accounted for 7%.
Consumer Price Index - November 2023
Urban CPI increased by 9.2 percent on annual basis (November 2023 compared to November 2022) and it decreased by 1 percent on monthly basis (November 2023 to October 2023). The annual average inflation rate between November 2023 and November 2022 was 15.3 percent.
Socio-Economic Status of Refugees in Rwanda
The Government of Rwanda through NISR conducted the 5th Rwanda Population and Housing Census (RPHC-5) from 16-30 August ,2022. The 2022 RPHC is the most important project for the NSDS3 and was in line with National development efforts to develop official statistics and a dynamic evidence based for policy decisions. The Census results provide updated demographic, social and economic indicators for policy formulation and planning to support the national development agenda.
Index of Industrial Production (October-2023)
In October 2023, the industrial output (formal sector) increased by 4.3 percent compared to October 2022, against an increase of 4.2 percent on annual average basis.
