Consumer Price Index - January 2024
Urban CPI increased by 5 percent on annual basis (January 2024 compared to January 2023) and it decreased by 0.1 percent on monthly basis (January 2024 to December 2023). The annual average inflation rate between January 2024 and January 2023 was 12.7 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (December-2023)
In December 2023, the industrial output (formal sector) increased by 0.1 percent compared to December 2022, against an increase of 2.9 percent on annual average basis.
Producer Price Index Report - December 2023
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 20.4 percent in December 2023, Local PPI increased by 19.7 percent in December 2023, and Export PPI increased by 22.3 percent in December 2023.
Formal external trade in Goods report (December 2023)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 367.20 million in December 2023, an increase of 20.07 percent compared to the previous month of November. Year-to-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 46.95 percent on the deficit of December 2022.

The 2022 Integrated Business Enterprise Survey in Rwanda (IBES) is a comprehensive business enterprise survey undertaken to collect, compile, and analyse data on the level and structure of non-agricultural economic activity in the country for both informal and formal sectors, with the formal sector defined as those businesses registered with the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and that keep regular business accounts.
