In December 2024, the industrial output (formal sector) increased by 5.7 percent compared to December 2023, against an increase of 9.0 percent on annual average basis.
The output of manufacturing activities increased by 13.7 percent. The increase in manufacturing activities is due to a 10.5 percent increase in food processing and a 21.7 percent increase in manufacturing of beverages and tobacco products.
However, manufacturing of textiles, clothing & leather decreased by 42.1 percent.
Activities performed as follows:
➢ Mining and quarrying increased by 2.5 percent
➢ Manufacturing increased by 13.7 percent
➢ Electricity increased by 12.2 percent; and
➢ Water & waste management increased by 12.5 percent.
