Dissemination of the 4th Population and Housing Census (PHC,2012) :::In images

On 1 April, 2014, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) released the final results of the Fourth Population and Housing Census that was conducted in August 2012 (2012 RPHC). The event took place at the Serena Hotel, Kigali. Some images taken during the event are produced below.

Population of Rwanda: Results from 4th Census, 2012

The fourth Population and Housing Census conducted in August 2012 (2012 RPHC), revealed that the total population of Rwanda was at that moment 10,515,973 persons.


Rwanda's GDP growth hits 4.6 percent in 2013

In 2013, based on 2011 benchmark, estimates calculated in 2011 prices shows that GDP was 4.6 percent higher in real terms than in 2012, following an increase of 7.3 percent in 2012.


Rwanda sees trade deficit during the fourth quarter of 2013

In the fourth quarter, 2013 Rwanda’s total trade of US$ 564.6 million was made up of imports of US$ 415.5 million, exports of US$ 121.5 million, and re-exports of US$ 27.6 million.


Rwanda February CPI rises 3.45 % year on year

Rwanda's Consumer Price Index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, has risen 3.45 percent year on year in February 2014, up from 2.43 percent in January 2014.

Rwanda's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, has risen 2.43 percent year on year in January 2014, down from 3.65 percent in December 2013.


Rwanda's economy grew 3.9 pct in Q3, 2013

Rwanda's gross domestic product (GDP) in real terms was estimated to have increased by 3.9 percent between the third quarter of 2012 and the third quarter of 2013.


Rwanda CPI inflation rises 3.65 pct in Dec.2013

Rwanda's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, grew 3.65 percent year on year in 2013, but  stands  for  a decreased  of 1.72 percent over the previous month.


Rwanda's inflation rises 4.58 pct in Nov.2013

Rwanda's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, grew 4.58 percent year on year in November 2013, down from the 5.10 percent recorded in October.


Food and beverages prices drive up Rwanda producer prices

The input and output prices of Rwanda's producers both rose in the third quarter to the end of September 2013 on the back of rising food,beverages and tobacco products.
