Food prices raise inflation in Rwanda

Rwanda's consumer price index rose by 5.10 percent in October, putting the annual inflation rate at 4.2 percent.

It is noted that the increase of 0.43 in prices of Food and non alcoholic beverages is primary attributable to the increase of 0.92 of Bread and Cereals.

Rwanda's inflation rises to 5.10 pc in September 2013

Rwanda's overall inflation rate rose high of 5.10 percent in September from 4.04 percent in the previous month due to increases in  Food,  non-alcoholic beverages and Education.

Rwanda's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, grew 4.04 percent year on year in August 2013 from 3.52% in the previous month due to increases in Food, non-alcoholic beverages and education

Rwanda's annual inflation stands at 3.52 percent in July 2013

Rwanda's consumer price index has risen by 3.52 percent in July 2013, putting the annual inflation rate at 4.4 percent.  However, the annual average underlying inflation rate which stood at +3.6 % in July 2013 is up from the previous month 3.5 %.

Trade data show promising signs for Rwanda's economy

Rwanda's trade balance recorded a deficit with a total trade of US$ 631.7 million which was made up of imports of US$ 380.1 million, exports of US$ 220.4 million, and re-exports of US$ 31.2 million during the second quarter of 2013.

Rwanda's annual inflation stands at 3.68 percent in June 2013

Rwanda's consumer price index has increased by 3.68 pc in June 2013 compared to 2.98 pc in the previous month. This gives a general inflation rate by an annual average of 4.6% during the month of June 2013.
