GDP National Accounts (Fourth Quarter 2022)
In the fourth quarter of 2022, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 3,829 billion, up from Frw 2,925 billion in the same quarter of 2021. Services contributed 45 percent of GDP, Agriculture contributed 27 percent of GDP, Industry contributed 22 percent of GDP while Net direct taxes accounted for 7 percent.
GDP National Accounts, 2022
In 2022, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 13,716 billion, up from Frw 10.930 billion in 2021. Services sector contributed 47 percent of GDP, Agriculture sector contributed 25 percent of the GDP, and Industry sector contributed 21 percent of GDP while 7 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes less subsidies on products.
Consumer Price Index - February 2023
Urban CPI increased by 20.8 percent on annual basis (February 2023 and February 2022) and increased by 1.8 percent on monthly basis (February 2023 to January 2023). The annual average inflation rate between February 2023 and February 2022 was 16.5 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (January-2023)
In January 2023, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) increased by 5.9 percent compared to January 2022, against an increase of 9.3 percent on annual average basis.
Formal external trade in Goods report (January 2023)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 294.13 million in January 2023, an increase of 0.06 per cent compared to the previous month of December 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 39.96 per cent on the deficit of January 2022.

The analysis of the fifth Rwanda Population and Housing Census (RPHC5) indicates that Rwanda’s population was 13,246,394 as of August 2022, showing an inter-censal annual growth rate of 2.3% between 2012 and 2022.

Producer Price Index Report - January 2023
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 13.7 percent in January 2023, Local PPI increased by 15.4 percent in January 2023, and Export PPI increased by 10.2 percent in January 2023.
