KEY FIGURES: 5th Rwanda Population and Housing Census (PHC)
Rwanda's population increased from 10.5M in 2012 to 13.2M in 2022 with an annual population growth rate of 2.3%. Eastern Province has the highest population (26.9%). Southern Province has the highest number of recent out-migrants.

Consumer Price Index - January 2023
Urban CPI increased by 20.7 percent on annual basis (January 2023 and January 2022) and increased by 1.3 percent on monthly basis (January 2023 to December 2022). The annual average inflation rate between January 2023 and January 2022 was 15.3 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (December-2022)
In December 2022, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that industrial output (formal sector) increased by 6.4 percent compared to December 2021, against an increase of 10.9 percent on an annual average basis.
Labour Force Survey Trends-November 2022(Q4)
The Labour Force Survey (LFS) programme collect data on employment and labour underutilization characteristics of the population on a continuous basis, providing quarterly estimates of the main labour force aggregates with sufficient precision at the National level since 2016.
Formal external trade in Goods report (December 2022)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 293.96 million in December 2022, an increase of 0.81 per cent compared to the previous month of November 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 28.93 per cent on the deficit of December 2021.
Producer Price Index Report - December 2022
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 12.9 percent in December 2022, Local PPI increased by 14.6 percent in December 2022, and Export PPI increased by 9.3 percent in December 2022.

Formal external trade in Goods report (November 2022)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 291.59 million in November 2022, a decrease of 3.57 per cent compared to the previous month of October 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 39.51 per cent on the deficit of November 2021.
