Rwanda Vital Statistics Report - 2021
The National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) within the third National Strategy for Development of Statistics (NSDS3), which is being implemented from 2019/20 to 2023/24, committed to strengthen administrative data collection system including Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (CRVS) in Rwanda to complement official statistics from surveys and censuses.

The FPC 2021 census covered 274 enterprises, of which 227 responded, representing a response rate of 82.8 percent.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) - June 2022
Urban CPI increased by 13.7 percent on annual basis (June 2022 and June 2021) and increased by 0.8 percent on monthly basis (June 2022 to May 2022). The annual average inflation rate between June 2022 and June 2021 was 4.6 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity),May 2022
In May 2022, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) decreased by 0.6 percent compared to May 2021, against an increase of 12.2 percent on annual average basis.
Formal external trade in Goods report (May 2022)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 306.64 million in May 2022, an increase of 33.12 per cent compared to the previous month of April 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 23.19 per cent on the deficit of May 2021.
Formal external trade in Goods report (Q1,2022)
In the first quarter of 2022, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1486.51 million, an increase of 44 percent over the first quarter of 2021. Exports were US$ 280.67 million, imports were US$ 1055.38 million and re-exports were US$ 150.46 million.
GDP National Accounts (First Quarter 2022)
In the first quarter of 2022, GDP at current market prices was estimated to be Frw 3,025 billion, up from Frw 2,588 billion in Q1 2021. In this quarter, services sector contributed 47 percent of GDP,agriculture sector contributed 23 percent of the GDP, Industry sector contributed 22 percent of the GDP and 8 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.

Urban CPI increased by 12.6 percent on annual basis (May 2022 and May 2021) and increased by 1.9 percent on monthly basis (May 2022 to April 2022). The annual average inflation rate between May 2022 and May 2021 was 3.5 percent.
Producer Price Index Report,April 2022
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 14.1 percent in April 2022. Monthly general PPI increased by 0.8 percent. Local PPI increased by 11.2 percent in April 2022, and Export PPI increased by 24.5 percent in April 2022.
Formal external trade in Goods report (April 2022)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 230.35 million in April 2022, an increase of 3.53 per cent compared to the previous month of March 2022. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 43.61 per cent on the deficit of April 2021.
