Formal external trade in Goods report (December 2021)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 218.28 million in December 2021, an increase of 3.85 per cent compared to the previous month of November. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit has increased by 16.78 per cent on the deficit of December 2020.
Producer Price Index Report,December 2021
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 7.8 percent in December 2021. Monthly general PPI increased by 2.7 percent. Local PPI increased by 2.4 percent in December 2021, and Export PPI increased by 24.6 percent in December 2021.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) - December 2021
Urban CPI increased by 1.9 percent on annual basis (December 2021 and December 2020) and was stable on monthly basis (December 2021 to November 2021). The annual average inflation rate between December 2021 and December 2020 was 0.8 percent.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 210.19 million in November 2021, an increase of 5.75 per cent compared to the previous month of October. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 0.38 per cent on the deficit of November 2020.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity),November 2021
In November 2021, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) increased by 17.9 percent compared to November 2020, against an increase of 15.0 percent on annual average basis.

Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 5.4 percent in November 2021. Monthly general PPI increased by 0.6 percent. Local PPI increased by 3.7 percent in November 2021 compared to November 2020, and Export PPI increased by 10.6 percent in November 2021 compared to November 2020.
GDP National Accounts (Third Quarter 2021)
In the third quarter of 2021, GDP at current market prices was estimated at Frw 2,746 billion, up from Frw 2,453 billion in the same quarter of 2020. Services continue to lead in terms of shares to GDP with 48 percent compared to 23 percent and 21 percent shares for agriculture and industry respectively. The remainder 7 percent was attributed to adjustment for taxes and subsidies on products.
Formal external trade in Goods report (Q3,2021)
In the third quarter of 2021, Rwanda’s total trade was US$ 1368.68 million, a decrease of 8 percent over the third quarter of 2020. Exports were US$ 263.45 million, imports were US$ 990.42 million and re-exports were US$ 114.81 million.
