Formal external trade in Goods report (April 2020)
The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 128.60 million in April 2020, a decrease of 33.00 per cent compared to the previous month of March. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit decreased by 4.43 per cent on the deficit of April 2019.
Consumer Price Index (CPI) - April 2020
Urban CPI increased by 8 percent on annual basis (April 2020 to April 2019) and decreased by 0.2 percent on monthly basis (April 2020 to March 2020). The annual average inflation rate between April 2020 and April 2019 was 4.9 percent.
Index of Industrial Production (formal activity) March 2020
In March 2020, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) shows that, industrial output (formal sector) decreased by 13.9 percent compared to March 2019, against an increase of 10.6 percent on annual average basis.
Producer Price Index Report, March 2020
Rwanda’s general Producer Price Index combining both prices for local and export products registered an annual increase of 3.8 percent in March 2020. Monthly general PPI decreased by 0.4 percent compared to February 2020. Local PPI increased by 4.4 percent in March 2020, and Export PPI increased by 1.1 percent in March 2020.

The deficit in the balance of formal trade in goods was US$ 191.9 million in March 2020, an increase of 23.2 percent compared to the previous month of February. Year-over-year, the formal trade in goods deficit increased by 17 percent on the deficit of March 2019.
Labour Force Survey Trends-February 2020(Q1)
In February 2020(Q1), the working age population (16 years and above) was around 7.4 million and the population in the labour force constituted the majority of working age population. The proportion of population who were in the labour force increased from 52.5 percent in February 2019 to 55.6 percent in February 2020. The proportion of the working age population outside the labour force slightly decreased in the first quarter of 2020 as compared to different quarters of the LFS in 2019.
Seasonal Agricultural Survey Report - Season A, 2020
National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda conducted 2020 Seasonal Agricultural Survey in Season A. Data collection was done in 1200 segments and 308 large scale farmers’ holdings. SAS 2020 results estimate agricultural land at 1.39 million hectares (59% of total country land). In 2020 Season A, physical crop cultivated land was 1.1 out of which 1.04 million hectares was used for Seasonal crops in season A, 0.5 million hectares are area under permanent crops, 0.15 million ha under permanent pasture.
Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2019
The Rwanda Labour Force survey programme begun in 2016 with an annual sample spread into two rounds to provide bi-annual estimates of main indicators at the National level. From February 2019, the annual sample was spread into four rounds to provide estimates of main labour market indicators on quarterly basis at the National level.
