In January 2026, the formal sector industrial output increased by 7.5% compared to January 2025, while the annual average growth rate was 6.5%.
Activities performed as follows:
- Mining and quarrying increased by 6.9%
- Manufacturing increased by 7.8%
- Electricity increased by 14.2%; and
- Water & waste management increased by 3.0%
The output of manufacturing activities increased by 7.8%. The increase in manufacturing activities is due to a 4.3 % increase in manufacturing beverages & tobacco, and a 14.8% increase of manufacturing of metal products, machinery and equipment.
However, manufacturing of textiles, clothing & leather goods decreased by 2.9%.
